i slept late this morning, probably as a result of mixing beer and whisky last night. Not in one glass, I hasten to add!!
Got up just before 8am, walked to village for newspaper, had breakfast and read paper
Naomi got up and went out to Pilates class and I busied myself around the house.
She came back, we had lunch and then palled our afternoon to the steam fair. She went to collect Ann and boys which gave me an hour or so at home.
Got to the fair at about 2.30pm. Rain had just about stopped. Walked around and admired some big traction engines
and some very little ones.
There was a display of Honda Goldwings. Lots of old cars, not sure when they become vintage, met Naomi’s colleague Luke and his Mini. Lots of ex-Army vehicles and a lot of big trucks. Saw the Purple Helmets at 4pm – a motorcycle display team. That was followed by a man with birds. I think we saw a barn owl, a falcon and then an eagle owl. The display ended with the eagle owl swooping along very close to Naomi.
We’d had enough by then, it was past 5pm. We took Ann and boys home and then wondered what to do for tea. Decided on a meal out at The Stork. Nice enough to sit outside. I had bobotie, a South African dish
Headed home for about 9pm
