Diary – 5th August 2015

Another early  get up. Took same route to Lanacaster and another walk down to church.

2nd day of holiday club. Elijah and the prophets of Baal. We didn’t burn down the building!!

Back home for shortly after 1pm. Ate lunch, did job search. Got ready for bike ride.

Got phone call from Paul at about 4pm to say he was in village so headed down. We headed out along Factory Brow and Long Lane. Then Chipping Road. Storming along road. Via Galgate and up to university campus. Still feels a bit odd to be on campus. Straight across campus and on to Collingham Park and joined the A6. Followed road through city. I’m really not used to traffic. Glad to get off onto cycle path. Cut across Ryelands Park to Chris’s house. Stopped there for 10 minutes before returning across Ryelands Park to cycle path. Headed towards Morecambe but turned off onto path next to river which took us onto the road past Snatchams pub then skirting past Middleton before heading into Heysham and down to promenade. Then it was an easy ride all the way along to Hest Bank. Stopped here at the pub and had a couple of beers with chips while the rain came down. It had stopped by the time we we ready to go again. Straight onto canal. Paul and I left the others behind. I think Paul was concerned about getting me home. Turned on to road at slyne and into Lancaster. At least one-way system was quiet. Left Paul and carried on down A6 alone. Rain started at university but not too bad. Comfort break at Forton and I saw the steam train heading north. Rain got heavy just as I arrived in scorton so got very wet as I did the slow climb up the hill.

Glad to get home and have a lovely jacuzzi bath
