Diary – 27th May 2016

Awake again at 7.15am. Got up, walked down to shop for papers. Naomi was in kitchen when I got back.

We were going out for the day and left house about 9.15am with our walking gear. M6 was Ok and road round Kendal was ok but road closed at end of bypass. Had to take rad to Windermere via crook which took longer. Eventually back on road to Ullswater. Parked at glenridding in main car park. Still lots of work going on in village doing storm repairs.

Walk took us to Red Tarn and then onto Swirral Edge for a bit of a scramble to summit of Helvllyn. Hardly anyone else around and weather was lovely and calm. Stopped briefly for lunch. Fairly gentle walk along ridge before dropping down into valley along Miners path past mine and back to village. Stopped at pub for a welcome drink and then back t car. Changed shoes, rucksacks into car boot and went for short walk down to lake.

Back to car and set off back up Kirkstone Pass. Stopped at pub on top for tea. Both had rogan josh.

And then drove home for about 9pm.

Bath and then bed. Zzzzz
