Diary – Tuesday 26th December 2017

Up at about 7.30am but had to wait for breakfast til Rob got up at 9am.

Family arrived shortly after 10am: Sarah and Elizabeth, Sue and Mark. Sat and chatted and grazed.

Think they left some time after 2pm.

We did some tidying up then four of us went out for a walk to get some fresh air. Eventually split into me and Rob, Naomi and Hilary, but we arrived back at house within a few min tens of each other.

Then we got ready to leave and did leave about 4.30pm just as it got dark.

M25 was quite busy. Saw other carriageway closed after accident. Rain as soon as we left and it got heavier and heavier. Traffic lighter as we turned onto M40. Stopped at Warwick services and I took over driving. North of Birmingham Motorway reduced to two lanes by standing water on fast lane. Rain eventually stopped somewhere around Stoke. Stopped at Knutsford to change drivers. Only took 5 hours despite weather.

Unpacked car, quick snack and bed.
